The spotlight has been cast on the dire circumstances that Black women in Pittsburgh face daily due to the recent City of Pittsburgh’s Gender Equity Commission report. The results of “Pittsburgh’s Inequality Across Gender and Race,” report indicates that Pittsburgh is the “most unlivable city” for Black women. Particularly, in the areas of health, employment, poverty, and education. We will have a webinar forum featuring panel discussions and collectively develop solutions that will lead to thriving for Black women and the communities in Pittsburgh and Mon Valley. Please RSVP by contacting us. See the information on the flyer and register by clicking on the link.
The Pittsburgh-Mon Valley Black Women’s Roundtable (PMBWR) is comprised of Black women leaders who are passionate about working collectively to develop strategies and solutions to address the challenges in the Mon Valley and Pittsburgh areas. We advocate for marginalized Black women and girls by focusing on grassroots efforts on public policy, economic stability, and social justice work.
