Felicia Savage Friedman Discovered Her Roots to Success

How many years have you been in your industry?  I have been practicing Raja Yoga, the 8-Limbed Path for over 29 years. I have been teaching Raja Yoga for over 22 years in different community venues, across the country and in Haiti. Raja Yogas’ 8-Limbs consists of these practices: behavioral observances (purity, contentment self-discipline, self-study, surrender to higher power), behavioral restraints (nonviolence, celibacy, non-possessiveness, non-stealing, non-hoarding), physical postures, breathing techniques, sensory withdrawal, concentration, meditation and living a Purposeful Life. Also, I have integrated my Raja Yoga practice with my understanding of The People’s Institute For Survival and Beyond Undoing Racism Principles.

What has been your greatest inspiration?

My greatest inspiration continues to be me personally witnessing my community members (human family) experiencing traumatic events in their lives and me being able to assist with sharing one or combinations of these techniques: listening ear, objective advice, breathing techniques, nutritional support, essential oils, and yoga-based movements that could relieve some of the stress on their minds, bodies and souls that are exhibited through symptoms such as Pain, Anxiety, Nausea, Insomnia, Constipation, Anger and Rage.

What advice would you give to anyone about following their dreams?

Eat healthy foods, get plenty of rest, often honor your higher self, and enjoy fun on a daily basis. Notice unhealthy patterns in our life and be honest with them and then start to unpack them and be objective and honest about what you find.

What was the best thing that you have ever done that got you to where you are today?  I listen to my intuition and continue my personal, physical, mental and spiritual practices.  That is one of the reasons that I continue to experience success in my integrated raja yoga business.

What would you do differently in your career or business?

I wouldn’t change a moment in my past because everything has brought me to deeper levels of understanding myself so that I was able to better understand my fellow humans.
