Have You Ever Thought about What Your Credit Report Says about You?

Creditors, lenders, and employers rely on the information in your credit report to determine if you are credit-worthy or a perfect candidate for employment. A credit report reflects your financial activities, which are really your character traits, on paper. In other words, your credit is a reflection of your “character.”

If you have late payments or missed payments, creditors or even employers may determine you are not trustworthy, maybe a liar, or not a good fit for employment at a financial institution.

This is why it’s extremely important to make sure your credit speaks well about the great person you are, no matter your age. The more seasoned you are, the more you’re expected to have it all together.

Your credit score is a three-digit number that tells people the story of what you’re made of, without you speaking a word. Credit scores range from 300-850.

If you want to maintain a good score above 760, you need to do a few things. First, make sure you have a perfect payment history, free of any derogatory items. Also, do not carry a statement balance on your credit cards of more than 7%. Finally, build a credit mixture of revolving and installment accounts with a long history of great behavior. This is how you will then remain amongst the “haves” instead of the “have nots.” There’s no other way but UP from here!
