Powerful Statement on The Image of Beauty

The model in this TED Talks presentation has an honest and authentic talk on the image of beauty. She tells how her looks define an image that is unattainable to many. She also mentions a study that indicated that out of about 600 models on the runways; only about fraction happened to be African-American.

She honestly admits to being privileged in a society that judges people simply by appearance. I am impressed at her admission to how insecure she is; even says other models are just as insecure.

The pressure to meet an unattainable standard of beauty will only stop when we chose to be accepting of who we are and how we look. Let’s begin a campaign to address the beauty lies!
