Q: How long have you been in business?
A: September 26, 2015 will mark the year anniversary of the birth of A&M Healthcare Agency, LLC.
Q: Why did you go into business?
A: I wanted to create a legacy for my two children to not only look up to, but to also build from. Independence is a huge importance to me.
Q: Why did you choose this type of business?
A: My passion has always been the medical field. The human body and how it operates fascinates me. One of my strong characteristics is being a leader and taking charge. I love challenges and this has been definitely a strong challenge that I take pride in conquering.
Q: What is the most fulfilling part of being in business?
A: To be honest it is being my own boss. Making decisions to help build something that I created. I am not only a woman, but a black woman who has embraced being a CEO in the corporate world that was once basically considered a “mans world”. I also get the most fulfillment when someone tells me that I have inspired them to either start their own company or something as simple as taking that first step to further their education. I am an optimistic thinker, and have always believed that skies the limit when it comes to furthering yourself in life.
Q: What is your company’s mission?
A: Our mission is to efficiently provide client-centered, quality nursing from the heart. While maintaining the highest standards of care, we strive to approach our jobs with passion and commitment. We build trust and teamwork to continually facilitate an expanded array of growth strategies in order to meet and exceed our consumer expectations.
Q: Where would you like to be in 5 years?
A: In 5 years I would like to, no I am determined to have an abundant increase in clientele. I also am going to open up another branch office in another county. I intend to add hospice onto our list of services that we offer. Eventually I am going to expand my company into another state. I also will have another successful business growing in the process.
Q: What advice would you give to other women in business?
A: Do not give up on your dreams. Remember that planning is ok, but you also must execute those plans. You will run into obstacles which is expected, but just look at them as hurdles that you will overcome as the business prospers. Oh and always stay away from the “Nay-sayers”. Your biggest disappointment is when you realize that the person you expected to be your biggest cheerleader is actually in all reality NOT. Let this motivate you more to succeed. The most important message that stays with me is, “STAY HUMBLE!”
A&M Healthcare Agency provides quality care in the least restrictive environment (your home) as you would in the most restrictive environment (the hospital).
